"Woodworking for Children: An Introduction to Working with Traditional Hand Tools "

Class Size: 6 / Adults and children age 7-16 accompanied by an adult

This family centered workshop provides an introduction to safely using traditional hand woodworking tools for youth ages 7 through 16. All youth attending must be accompanied with a parent or adult. Tools introduced may include squares, eggbeater and brace drills, hand and miter saws, planes, spokeshaves, chisels, and vices/clamps. This workshop is focused on basic skill building and how to safely use tools.

About Jason Breen: I am a custom furniture maker and studied instrument building and history at Marlboro College. I paid for that education building timber frames and cabinets. Historical and traditional tools have inspired my work since inheriting my ancestors’ hand planes. A member of the Guild of Vermont Furniture Makers, I live and work in Brattleboro, Vermont.
