Classes at the Mill 2021

Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to learn new skills or refine old ones, take a stroll through local history, and more at Chase’s Mill this summer. Programs begin July 3 and run through September 11. All instructors or course leaders live in or near Mill Hollow and look forward to sharing their practical knowledge and fond connections to the Mill.

Class Fee: $20.00 plus material fee $5.00

Class Size: 12 / Adults and children age 8 + accompanied by an adult

Using the simple technique of pressing clay into a wooden form - your hands and creative powers are all that you need to enjoy an afternoon of tile making at the mill. We will utilize stamps, found objects, clay carving tools, or natural elements such as leaves or flowers to make each tile as unique as yourself. Each workshop participant will be able to make up to 5 tiles. Once finished and dried they will be fired at Old Settlers Pottery and will be available to you in 3-4 weeks.

About Barb Davis: I grew up in a small town in Western New York, but as a recent transplant to East Alstead, I’ve already become part of the fabric of this vibrant community and feel closely connected to Chase's Mill. Currently I have a pottery studio on Old Settlers Road. I love stories and storytelling, swimming in Lake Warren, and hiking the hills and paths of East Alstead.
