In Alstead, New Hampshire a century-old water-powered mill is being restored as a workshop, learning center, and community gathering place that will open to the public in mid-July of 2020.

Chase's Mill stands on a dry-laid stone foundation dating to the 1700s, and the building incorporates ancient hand­hewn beams and boards. Its location on Warren Brook in East Alstead's Mill Hollow was once the site of a grist mill and a carding machine and fulling mill that processed much of the 11,440 pounds of wool from the town's 6,331 sheep between 1810 and 1830.
