Margaret has a collection of letters written by her family, some of which date back to 1898. This talk will focus on the contents of the letters, featuring technology of a hundred years ago and a glimpse into what life was like in the Alstead of yesteryear.
Margaret Perry is a daughter of Heman and Edith Chase and grew up in Mill Hollow, with much time spent at the Mill. She has been an elementary school teacher, a farmer’s wife, and a librarian. Like her father, she has always enjoyed local history and serves now as archivist for the Alstead Historical Society.
