Celebrate Wood!

Classes, lectures, and workshops run from July 1 - September 1.

This summer, we will Celebrate Wood! in all its forms, with a presentation on woodlot management, a walk through a managed forest, a class on turning plates from cherry wood, and a beginner Woodworking for Everyone class series. We will also offer returning favorites like papercrafting and watercolor painting. A series of events throughout the month of July will honor and teach about the first peoples of what we now call the Monadnock Region. Check the website in June for the full list of events. Classes at the Mill 2022

Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to learn new skills or refine old ones, take a stroll through local history, and more at Chase’s Mill this summer. Programs begin June 4 and run through October 9. All instructors or course leaders live in or near Mill Hollow and look forward to sharing their practical knowledge and fond connections to the Mill. The Mill is located on the northwest corner of Lake Warren. Physical Location: 801 Forest Road, Alstead, NH 03602.

Please be sure to review our policies, as all visitors and participants will be required to adhere to these policies. Those taking a tour, in a class, or participating in a mill activity (not including our speaker programs) will need to sign a release form prior to participation in those activities. Class Fee: $40.00 plus $10.00 for materials

Class size: 4-10 /Adults

Over the last few years Moss has made many maple and cherry cheese boards, which make great gifts. Adding handles, a cheese board can double as a small serving tray. You will be provided with all the necessary materials. Just bring your creativity. With help from the power tools at Chase's Mill, some wood glue and bar clamps, this is a project within anyone's reach.

Moss Kahler grew up in Ohio, but Vermont has been his home for over 45 years. He has recently retired from over 35 years as owner of Frame to Finish Homebuilders in Brattleboro. Through the years, he has undertaken many finish carpentry projects such as cabinetry and various pieces of furniture. There are few things more satisfying than a successful project built in a woodshop!
