Celebrate Wood!

Classes, lectures, and workshops run from July 1 - September 1.

This summer, we will Celebrate Wood! in all its forms, with a presentation on woodlot management, a walk through a managed forest, a class on turning plates from cherry wood, and a beginner Woodworking for Everyone class series. We will also offer returning favorites like papercrafting and watercolor painting. A series of events throughout the month of July will honor and teach about the first peoples of what we now call the Monadnock Region. Check the website in June for the full list of events. Classes at the Mill 2022

Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to learn new skills or refine old ones, take a stroll through local history, and more at Chase’s Mill this summer. Programs begin June 4 and run through October 9. All instructors or course leaders live in or near Mill Hollow and look forward to sharing their practical knowledge and fond connections to the Mill. The Mill is located on the northwest corner of Lake Warren. Physical Location: 801 Forest Road, Alstead, NH 03602.

Please be sure to review our policies, as all visitors and participants will be required to adhere to these policies. Those taking a tour, in a class, or participating in a mill activity (not including our speaker programs) will need to sign a release form prior to participation in those activities. Class size: 6-8 /Adults and children 16+ accompanied by an adult

"Painting with Primary Colors" will explore working with three different primary color combinations and the characteristics of each. Limity the pallet can help with color decisions and create paintings with perfect color harmony. Bring your watercolor supplies, paper, and one or more collections of yellows, reds, and blues, and we will play with color!

Donna Bascom and her husband Perley have enjoyed living in picturesque East Alstead for the last 40 years. As an artist, she plays with many creative media including sewing and blacksmithing but is most drawn to painting with watercolor. Donna feels that no other medium offers the feeling that watercolor does. Favorite subjects are landscapes, nature and an occasional old barn.
