Celebrate Wood!

Classes, lectures, and workshops run from July 1 - September 1.

This summer, we will Celebrate Wood! in all its forms, with a presentation on woodlot management, a walk through a managed forest, a class on turning plates from cherry wood, and a beginner Woodworking for Everyone class series. We will also offer returning favorites like papercrafting and watercolor painting. A series of events throughout the month of July will honor and teach about the first peoples of what we now call the Monadnock Region. Check the website in June for the full list of events. Classes at the Mill 2022

Bring your friends, family, and neighbors to learn new skills or refine old ones, take a stroll through local history, and more at Chase’s Mill this summer. Programs begin June 4 and run through October 9. All instructors or course leaders live in or near Mill Hollow and look forward to sharing their practical knowledge and fond connections to the Mill. The Mill is located on the northwest corner of Lake Warren. Physical Location: 801 Forest Road, Alstead, NH 03602.

Please be sure to review our policies, as all visitors and participants will be required to adhere to these policies. Those taking a tour, in a class, or participating in a mill activity (not including our speaker programs) will need to sign a release form prior to participation in those activities. Everyone has had an animal in their lives. It may have been a pesky rodent that kept you up an entire winter, chewing and moving acorns, or it may be an animal that sat at the dinner table as a family member. Whatever animal relationship springs to mind, please join us at the Mill for an evening of animal stories.

Six local storytellers will astound you with their recollections of the animals they have had in their lives. This will be fun for the whole family!

Barb Davis grew up in a small town in Western New York, but as a recent transplant to East Alstead, she has already become part of the fabric of this vibrant community and feels closely connected to Chase's Mill. Currently she has a pottery studio on Old Settlers Road. She loves stories and storytelling, swimming in Lake Warren, and hiking the hills and paths of East Alstead.
